2018.10.09 Hangul holiday

STEALER and YOON DESIGN, those very different two brands are combined and collaborate for their special collaboration project

“Ssue-go, Ssue-da” (meaning of “Write and Wear in Korean), celebrating Hangul holiday, October 9th, 2018

The STEALER X YOON DESIGN Collaboration works are composed of four frames and designed with the structures of Hangul vowels and consonants.

Every single frame expresses the beauty of Hangul.

SHAPER(OPT)

-This optical frame gets structural inspiration from one of Hangul consonant, “o” in YOON Myungjo font.

The knot of a top part of “o” consonant is applied to the bridge design and the rims are 3mm thick.

These rims are well-rounded, highlighting the shape of “o” consonant.

SHAPER(SUN)

-These sunglasses get structural inspiration from one of Hangul consonant, “ㄷ”.

The outline of frames is matched with the straight and strong silhouette of “ㄷ” structure. By contrast, the lenses are softly rounded.

SHAPER(CON) 'ㄴ'

-To highlight the characteristic of YOON Gothic font, this conceptual sunglasses are composed of strong and straight lines.

-This SHAPER (CON_ㄴ) is designed with  “all-in-one” lenses and cover with a metal outline and the metal thin line of “L” consonant across the front of the frames.

SHAPER(CON) 'ㄷ'

-To highlight the characteristic of YOON Gothic font, this conceptual sunglasses are composed of strong and straight lines.

-This SHAPER (CON_ㄷ) is designed with  “all-in-one” lenses and cover with a metal outline and the metal thin line of “ㄷ” consonant across the front of the frames.

Script and Eyewear are hardly matched and very different categories. However,

STEALER and YOON DESIGN got a hint from an ambiguous word, “Ssue-da”, and came up with a creative idea.

Those collaboration works were firstly released during the 2018 SIMLO PARIS, getting so much attention from the international buyers.

Celebrating YOON DESIGN GROUP’s 30 years Anniversary, they are produced as a limited edition.

These creative and unique pieces are only available at STEALER’s official website and showroom.
